Get to Know Julie | Instructor

I started with kids' sessions and horses, teaching riding for 28 years. I enjoyed living off the grid in the Los Padres National Forest with my horses at Rancho Oso, a Dude Ranch in Santa Barbara. I had wonderful experiences with campers, also sober living homes, taking residents out to enjoy nature, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, and campfires.

Blue & Green Spaces

I LOVE the Water and have paddle boarded daily for years, wrestling the wind in harbors, lakes, and the open sea. With winds over most lakes, I aim to work with Mother Nature and teach kids to co-exist in our environment while using current technology. Together, we focus on healthy habits and caring for our Harbor by cleaning it each session.

Best NO IMPACT Core Workout

Endurance paddling and strength training.

Prolonged standing can cause knee pain. Dressing for paddling can be tricky—stay warm without overheating and safe. LEG compression sleeves aid knee pain, plantar fasciitis, UV protection, and warmth.

Why this company?

I love to try new things. I wanted to wing with my SUP, but local companies were unable to accommodate my needs. To address this, I've developed a diverse program with various watersports for beginners in small groups. Smaller groups allow us to coexist at lakes & shared campgrounds.

What to Wear SUPing

If air and water temps together exceed 120, skip the wetsuit. If they are below 120, wear one for safety (e.g., water at 55 and air at 78 = 133, no suit needed). Skip cotton; it soaks up 27 times its weight in water. Don't wear loose cotton clothes—they make it hard to climb back on your board and can be unsafe.
